Presentation of the new website in “Maresmejant”

Yesterday, Sunday, November 10, 2019, we presented the new website on the radio program “Maresmejant”, by Mataró Ràdio.

We talked about the creation of the website, what our work is, about some of the projects we are involved in at the moment and how we record the microscopic images.

We also talked about the origin of the samples we record, how we adapt the systems to capture the images, our adaptation to new audiovisual formats and our research work in the recording process.

You can hear the fragment of the program (in Spanish and Catalan) here:

6th International Jellyfish Blooms Symposium in South Africa

Great news! Our photos have been shown at an international scientific congress at the Iziko South African Museum in Cape Town, South Africa. The researcher Ainara Ballesteros from the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC) presented her paper “The cnidocite of Pelagia noctiluca (Forskal, 1775) and why you should not use vinegar in case of its sting” at the 6th International Jellyfish Blooms Symposium in South Africa. Olympus BH2 and Olympus BX51 microscopes and Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II and OM-D E-M1X cameras were used in our studio from samples provided by the researcher.
